Meditation Basics

This is an introductory course covering the basics of meditation. Emphasis is placed on learning what meditation is, it’s purpose and the effects it has on our physical, mental/emotional and spiritual body. Several different types of meditation will be covered, including guided visualization, concentration meditation, mantra meditation and an eating meditation. Short meditations (10-15 minutes) will be practiced in each technique. Mantras, mudras and breathing will be explored and how they play a part in the meditation practice. Detailed handouts provided, with instructions for each meditation technique, and how to develop a personal meditation practice.
