Hmmm, sounds serious, doesn’t it?  Well it is, sort of.

You by now have heard about the many benefits of yoga: stress reduction, improved breathing, strengthening and lengthening the muscles, and on and on.  Nothing new here, right?  But most importantly, it is fun, and it feels good!  And we are fun bunch here at Yoga West, and we think you should come do yoga with us.

If you are unsure about the “stigma” surrounding yoga: the ancient practices, the mysticism, the language, we invite you to try yoga Yoga West style. There is no secret club, no required chants, and you don’t even have to be quiet or still (OK, maybe a little). Whether you are bendy as a pretzel or stiff as a board, you will learn from, laugh with, and grow to love the community that is Yoga West.  And we are fun.  Did I say that already?

Yoga West has an amazing array of talented and devoted teachers. We take our yoga seriously, but not ourselves. We love teaching yoga, but we are also “regular” people, with jobs, homes, families, and all the same crazy over scheduled lives as you. We teach yoga not to find our identity, but to enhance it.  We know the transformation that yoga has created in our own full and busy lives, and we want to share it with you.

Yoga West offers a variety of classes to keep you enthusiastic about your practice. Our classes are challenging yet fun, adventurous yet safe, energizing yet cleansing, serious yet playful. Yoga West is a fun place to be, with instructors (and students), who can laugh and play without losing the meditative and internal aspect of the practice.

I love to say, “It’s Just Yoga.”  OK, I totally stole that from a yoga mentor, but it is true, and I believe it.  Yes, your practice is serious business and can change your life when you decide to let it.  But so often people get trapped in their own drama about it, you know?  I am too (fill in the blank) fat, stiff, old, sick, whatever.  For what?  To have fun?  To feel good?  You can’t be too much of anything to not want to have fun and feel good.  And if somewhere along the way you touch your toes or stand on your head, that is just a bonus.  You can’t take it so seriously that it keeps you from getting started.  It’s Just Yoga.

So what are you waiting for?  See you on your mat!
